Smoking Cessation

Why is nicotine addictive?
Your "feel good" chemicals, called endorphins, follow the rise and fall of nicotine levels. As a result, you feel great after a smoke and feel increasingly uneasy as the nicotine levels in your body drop. This is the vicious cycle of nicotine addiction.

How does cold laser make the cravings disappear?
The laser process causes certain chemicals to be released in the body (called endorphins). These chemicals help alleviate withdrawal symptoms and help you stop smoking. The energy from the laser is absorbed by the body. This energy takes 4-6 weeks to dissipate, giving you a long-term effect. For 4-6 weeks elevated levels of endorphins (your own body’s “feel good” chemicals) satisfy cravings and withdrawals in your brain that you would normally have if you quit smoking cold turkey. This gives your body plenty of time to completely rid itself of nicotine, the drug in cigarettes that is so addictive, allowing you freedom from the addiction.

What do I do after the procedure?
You will be asked to throw all of your cigarettes away. In addition, you will be asked to consume more water to help your body flush out the toxins that are in your body from the cigarettes.

Does it work for everyone?
The endorphin levels will increase due to the laser acupuncture procedure. However, you have to really want to quit smoking. Dealing with the habit is much easier when your body is no longer screaming for nicotine. We cannot make any guarantees because we cannot MAKE you stop smoking.  You have to really want to quit.  However the increased endorphin levels help satisfy withdrawals to allow you an easier transition from smoker to non-smoker.
